Make a round profile picture with a transparent background

Crop a photo into a clean circle with smooth edges and a transparent background, ready for any profile.

Position, then zoom

Open Circle crop, drag your photo so your face sits in the middle of the ring, and use the zoom slider to fill it. The circle stays fixed while the photo moves, just like on your phone.

Transparent outside the circle

Export as PNG to keep the area outside the circle transparent, so it sits cleanly on any background. JPEG can’t store transparency and would fill the corners with a colour.

Smooth or soft edges

Edges are anti-aliased for a clean circle. The Soft edge slider adds a gentle fade if you prefer a softer look.

Pick a sensible size

512 × 512 pixels is plenty for most profiles; choose 1024 if you want room for high-resolution screens.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a round image for Instagram or LinkedIn?

No. They crop a square to a circle for you. A transparent round PNG is useful for websites, email signatures and documents.
