Why transparency disappears in JPG
Understand alpha and choose a deliberate fill colour.
JPEG has no alpha channel
Transparent and semi-transparent pixels must be blended onto a solid colour when saved as JPEG.
Choose the destination background
White is common but not universally correct. Match the page or document colour when you know it.
Keep PNG or WebP when needed
If transparency is a requirement, use a format and destination that support it.
