WHICH IMAGE EDITING TOOLS ARE AVAILABLE AT PICTURE.TOOLS?

We currently offer the following image editing tools:
  • Create a New Image
    This tool allows you to generate a new image using a text prompt. Image generation is powered by DALL-E 3, the most advanced image generation software available from OpenAI.

  • Edit an Existing Image
    This tool allows you to upload an image of your choosing and select which parts of it you would like to re-draw using our AI image generation software. By entering a prompt and using the magic brush to choose which parts of the image you would like to change, you can create interesting edits to your artwork or photographs. For example, you could make a duck appear on an empty lake, or add content to a monitor in a photo. The AI engine used to generate the edit is DALL-E 2.

  • Variation of an Existing Image
    This tool allows you to upload a photo and create a variation of it using our tools. The newly generated image will strongly resemble the previous one, but altered. The AI engine used to generate the variation is DALL-E 2.

WHAT IS THE ENGINE THAT POWERS PICTURE.TOOLS?

Picture.tools AI image generation tools are powered by OpenAI's DALL-E. Image generation is powered by DALL-E 3, the most advanced image generation software available from OpenAI and arguably the most powereful image AI every created. Image edits and variations are powered by DALL-E 2 which is still immensely powerful. Image edits and variations cost lest credits that image generations to reflect the fact that the slightly older engine is being used.

CAN I USE THE IMAGES GENERATED BY PICTURE.TOOLS COMMERCIALLY?

Yes, provided that the images do not carry the picture.tools watermark. Images generated as part of a paid subscription plan are not watermarked and can be used commercially.

WHO OWNS THE COPYRIGHT FOR IMAGES GENERATED USING PICTURE.TOOLS?

You, the subscriber, own the copyright provided that the images were generated as part of a paid subscription and are therefore not watermarked. However images generated for free which bear a picture.tools watermark are copyrighted by picture.tools. They can be used for personal or hobby use but not for any business or commercial purchase, or for any project or media which is wholly or in part designed to generate income. If you have generated an image with a watermark and decide you would later like to use it commercially, please purchase a subscription then contact us. We will attempt to provide the unwatermarked image provided it has not been deleted from our cache.

ARE UPLOADED / GENERATED IMAGES HELD BY PICTURE.TOOLS?

Generated images are cached for 30 days. Uploaded pictures are deleted within 3 days or earlier. After this they are deleted completely from our server. We reserve the right to change this policy in the future, since disk space is not unlimited :-)

HOW DO SUBSCRIPTIONS WORK? CAN I CANCEL AT ANY TIME?

Subscriptions are processed by Stripe. You can create a subscription and cancel at any time. If you cancel, then you will not be billed at the beginning of the next monthly billing cycle. You will retain access to your monthly credits until the end of the current billing month, after which the credits will no longer be available to use. You can re-subscribe at any time. Card payments will appear on your statement under the identifier picture.tools.

CAN I GET A REFUND ON MY MONTHLY SUBSCRIPTION PAYMENT?

We can offer a refund on a subscription payment within 14 days only in the case that you have not used any of the credits allotted for the billing period in question. Once any credits have been used, the subscription payment becomes entirely non-refundable.

WHY NOT JUST USE DALL-E DIRECTLY BY GOING TO THE OPENAI WEBSITE?

OpenAI no longer provide straightforward access to DALL-E for non-techical users. We wrap all of the tools provided by DALL-E in a very easy to use web interface and make the tools available for a lower cost than you would be charged to access the tools directly. Picture.tools makes it possible for non-technical users to use DALL-E at a lower price point than it would cost for technical users to do the same using the OpenAI API.

WHAT KIND OF PROMPTS / IMAGES CAN I UPLOAD TO PICTURE.TOOLS?

We encourage you to be creative with your prompts and edits! There are however some guidelines and restrictions as to which kind of prompts and images we can process. For example, we do not permit prompts or uploads which contain profanity, nudity, illegal content of any kind, etc. Content filters are in place so as to make picture.tools a safe and enjoyable platform for your image generation needs.

CAN I USE PICTURE.TOOLS FOR FREE?

We aim to try and allow users to trial our image generation tools for free. At busy periods, however, this may not be possible. You may need to create an account to be able to obtain a free trial.

HOW DO I REPORT A BUG, LEAVE FEEDBACK OR REQUEST A FEATURE?
